Founded on 11.04.1952.
In 1952 by the invitation of Bishop Edmond Peris, six Italian nuns from Sardinia came to Sri-Lanka and put the first foundation in Wennappuwa in the diocese of Chilaw.
In 14.06.1990 the new monastery chapel was blessed by Bishop Franck Marcus Fernando.
In 1999 the community became independent (Sui-iuris) from the mother house and officially declared in 11.04.2002 by Bishop Frank Marcus Fernando together with the Golden jubilee celebration.
Activities of the nuns are making alter bread, vestments and other church requirements.
