In 1977, a “Glass Bungalow” (as it was locally called) overlooking the valley with a coffee estate attached was acquired by the Congregation. It was renamed “House of Peace” and officially blessed by the Bishop of Salem in August 1980. It was then used as a retreat house for the Sisters, under the management of the Priory at Tiruvannamalai.
In 1996, a Community was established. In 1998, renovation of the bungalow took place and a guest quarters was constructed adjacent to the Bungalow. In 2001, a new Chapel, a Convent and another guest block with a Conference Hall were completed. The House provides hospitality to the Guests and Retreatants and run Formation programme for Formees.

LOCATION AND ROUTES
Location :
From Salem, only by bus or car (up hill-ghat road) is accessible. Salem is on NH7 (Bangalore – Dharmapuri) and NH47 (Salem – Coimbatore) highways and is a rail/road communication centre with Airport that connects flights to/from Chennai.
By Car :
From Salem take the ghat road to Yercaud.
By Bus :
From Salem take bus to Yercaud get down at the bus station and take an Auto or Taxi to House of Peace (1.5 km).
Attention :
Buses to Kottacheddu stop at Anjou Road (Five Roads) 150 meters fr5om the house. Buses from Salem to Yercaud are available at every 20 minutes until 7 pm.
By Train :
From Salem, railway station, take a bus or Auto to the Bus Station (2 km), then follow directions “By Bus”.
By Air :
It is advisable to fly to Chennai, from there, take a train or bus to Salem. And follow directions “By Bus” or “By Train”.
