Benhill was established as the Sylvestrines dependent house, exclusively for the Postulancy. Besides formation work and teaching, the monks are engaged in pastoral ministry, retreat preaching and farming. The monastery runs a college mainly intended for its own students. But also caters for poor students in the area. It also runs an English medium School under C.B.S.E syllabus to promote the educational need of the children of the locality.

Location :

4 km to the noth west of Irity, to the noth of the Kannur – Mysore road (between Irity and Kootupuzha).

By Car :

From Irittey, take the road going to Kootupuzha until you came toe the monastery.

By Bus :

From Irittey bus stand, take any bus going Kootupuzha and get off at Ben Bill.
